Kamen: Heat
The fourth and final part of his conceptual seasonal EP collection. Following what was stylistically established with Bloom, Kamen expands further on his R&B/Soul and Jazz influenced instrumentals. His starting point for this album, however, has been quite different than the rest in this collection. This time around, Kamen's predominantly using samples and loops that are a part of his own first sample pack "Crystal Soul" available at TouchLoops. Although using samples, Kamen heavily focuses on complementing them and showing their full potential in the best possible way. He pushes each composition musically and aesthetically to create a cohesive and well-flowing musical experience. Furthermore, what makes this album stand out, even more, is that for the first time ever Kamen is bringing in features to his project. From incredible UK R&B talents such as Jerome Thomas, Marcus Grey and Eli-xr to Zion - a rapper from Ilinois that never ceases to amaze, each artist adds their own flavour to the track they're featured on which adds another layer of musical brilliance that was only hinted in previous releases of Kamen's. Reece Whetter, an amazing alternative artist with a trademark sound and style makes an appearance as well. Last but not least, Theo Garcia blesses this project with his gorgeous trumpet playing on the heavily electronic track "Feel Good" giving it an incredibly organic and human feeling. Overall, the project is the perfect ending to this series of releases and Kamen decided that the best way to highlight this is by cleverly titling the outro track "Evening in Heaven" which makes a full circle back to the intro track of Rain (Kamen's first solo release) titled "Morning in Hell".
